Each semester, Political Awareness proudly partners with The Washington Center’s prestigious academic internship program to bring in the brightest emerging talent. This summer, we’re thrilled to host more than 30 exceptional student interns. One of them is Reagan Forgey, a political science student from Middle Tennessee State University, who brings a calm and inquisitive energy to the team.
Reagan joined Political Awareness because of our non-partisan mission and focus on constructive civic engagement.
“I liked their non-partisan stance and the way they oppose the hostility in our current political climate,” he shared. His interest in bridging divides and promoting respectful discourse aligns closely with our core values.
This Summer
This summer, Reagan looks forward to connecting with fellow interns and exploring campaign finance and advocacy.
“I’m especially excited to learn how Super PACs operate,” he noted.
His curiosity about the systems that shape our democracy reflects a deep commitment to learning. Reagan has also expressed admiration for our structure and sincerity. He appreciates our transparency, intentionality, and authenticity, qualities that already shape how he contributes to the team.
Beyond academics, Reagan is a talented guitarist and vocalist who enjoys sharing his passion for music. He also brings experience from his role on the Mock Trial team at his university. There, he strengthens his skills in public speaking, legal reasoning, and collaboration, which serve him well in this internship.
With his thoughtful perspective and strong interest in ethical civic engagement, Reagan is poised to make a meaningful impact during his time with us. We’re excited to have him on board this summer.
